How Does Botox Work?
As Botox becomes more common for those older and younger, we want to answer any questions that surround the process and results of Botox.
What is botox?
Well, Mayo Clinic states it best, “Botox injections block certain chemical signals from nerves, mostly signals that cause muscles to contract. The most common use of these injections is to temporarily relax the facial muscles that cause wrinkles in the forehead and around the eyes.”
How is it done?
When getting botox most people don’t feel any pain. The doctor uses a thin needle to inject tiny amounts of botulinum toxin into your skin or muscles. The amount of injections varies between each person and the area they are treating.
When Can I notice it?
You can usually notice your botox working one to three days after treatment. Depending on the problem being treated, the effect can last three months or longer! And we will schedule your next session so that you don’t lose the effect.
